Nerdfighters probably already know about the Harry Potter Alliance's Help Haiti Heal project. Basically it was the most awesome way one group of people could possibly go about helping another. Details here: http://www.thehpalliance.org/haiti/

Cost: Thirty dollars. I am also good at breaking the five dollar limit...
Effort: It was quite simple.
